Bayhawks win MLL Championship title

In the semifinal games on Saturday:

Charlotte Hounds beat the undefeated Denver Outlaws 17-14

Chesapeake Bayhawks narrowly defeated the Hamilton Nationals 13-12 

to earn their respective spots in the championship game.

Championship game summary:

The Hounds scored the first goal of the 2013 MLL Championship final game, but the Bayhawks battled their way to a 3-2 advantage going into the second quarter. Two more goals in the second quarter ended the first half in a Bayhawk advantage 5-2. 

Chesapeake scored again in the beginning of the third, followed by two quick Charlotte goals. However, Chesapeake stopped the third quarter surge with two goals to end the third 8-4. The fourth quarter saw a Charlotte team that would not give up, they rallied to a 10-7 score with just over seven minutes to play, but their two pointer in the last two seconds came up one goal short. The Bayhakws took the title, 10-9.
