The Machine – Lizards match up this weekend resulted in a
Lizard victory, 14 to 11, to finish in 7th place. Saturday was
designated Hero’s Night to benefit first responders and veterans in the tri
state area. The jerseys specially designed for the occasion were autographed
and auctioned off to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.
The win ends New York’s season at 4 – 10 (7th),
and Ohio’s at 2 – 12 (8th).

Rochester secured 5th place with a win in their
final regular season game. The Rattlers took command of the game early, leading
by 5 at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter saw an attempt at a
comeback by the Cannons with three quick goals, but the Rattlers answered with
two goals of their own to retain command.
A high scoring 3rd quarter saw 14 goals and
concluded with a 21-11 lead for the Rattlers. A five goal fourth quarter ended
with a decisive 23-14 win for the Rochester Rattlers.
The Rattlers end their season at 6 – 8 (5th) and
the Cannons at 5 – 9 (6th).

The Chesapeake Bayhawks earned the #2 seed for Championship Weekend
(August 24th and 25th) on Saturday with a 16-14 win over
the Charlotte Hounds. Both teams already earned a spot in the playoffs, but
with the win, the Bayhawks will not have to face the undefeated Outlaws in the
semifinals.
The Bayhawks led 6-3 at end of the first quarter, but the
Hounds stole the lead to end the first half at 10-9. The Hounds used the third
quarter to extend their lead to 14-10, but the Bayhawks controlled the fourth
quarter. Charlotte failed to capitalize on a few opportunities, and the
Bayhawks took the win, 16-14.
The Bayhawks finish the regular season in 2nd place
(9-5) and the Hounds finish in 4th place (7-7) to enter Championship
Weekend.
